My name is Phil Le Gal. I'm a French documentary photographer, based in London or on the move.
I specialise in photo documentary, reportage and portraiture.
I am part of studio Hans Lucas since 2015 and a Getty Images contributor.
Much of my practice stems from my interests in contemporary social, environmental and globalization issues. Each story is a window on a facet of this fascinating yet contradictory world.
I am passionate about stories, travels, revealing how others live and oddities of this world.
I usually work on long-term, self-initiated and researched projects and have completed work in China, North Korea, former Soviet countries, Nigeria, UK, France.
After training in photography at London Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design and later graduating with a Diploma in Arts and Design Digital Photography
I completed a Master in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography at the London college of Communication.
My work has been published in National UK medias (Metro, British Journal of Photography, BBC, Guardian) and exhibited in France, UK and Belgium
