Jacob Balzani Lööv

Jacob Balzani Lööv (b. 1977) is an Italian photographer and writer based between Milan and Zurich. After a career in atmospheric sciences, attracted by underreported social and environmental issues, in 2012 he graduated from the London College of Communication’s Photojournalism and Documentary Photography department.
He works for several NGOs worldwide. Often in Eastern Europe and Caucasus, Jacob is represented by Zuma for news and he contributes regularly to Al-Jazeera English and Eurasianet. His work has been published on many printed and online magazines including Newsweek, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, NBC and Vice. His work was exposed in London, Derby, Milan, Venice and Angkor Wat.

Yoga has grown increasingly popular among the poorest neighbourhoods in the capital thanks to Paige Elenson and her partner Baron Baptiste, two American yoga teachers who established the not-for-profit organisation Africa Yoga Project in 2007.
