Aid against the odds

Brand content

The first day of school was fast approaching, but the students were without the equipment they needed to kick off the year. They were special in every way and this was no typical start of the year.

Hewlett-Packard partnered with UNHCR to deliver dozens of computers to the Al Azraq refugee camp on the Syrian/Jordan border where a makeshift gradeschool was built for a growing number of Syrian refugee children streaming across the border. We deployed a film unit from Amman to race against the clock to the camp where equipment was arriving days before the first day of class.

Capturing this story was an important moment for HP, but an even more significant moment for the brand's leadership who needed the film shot, edited and delivered 48 hours later for a high profile event unveiling the refugee program. Our intrepid producers and teams in the field went to extraordinary lengths to tell this story, which left a deep impression on our internal teams and client partners. The story and the story behind it was a defining moment for us both.
