Education for the next generations
We partnered with Oxford University to reimagine art direction for an upcoming textbook series using documentary photography, photojournalism, and educational interviews with our award-winning network of creatives. We started with a very wide net, gathering work from photographers positioned around the world who had photographs in their archive that were lost or forgotten but could be useful helping describe a range of topics in each volume.
20,000 images were edited down to 144 final selects that illustrated a series of 12 textbooks that will be released in 2020. To accompany the books, our team created a series of films that introduce the story behind the image for each photograph in print. This supplement brought context to the work in print, but also introduced the power of documentary storytelling to millions of young minds.
