Meseret Demissie

Meseret Argaw is born in 1989; in Addis Ababa; Ethiopia. Although she has a degree in Textile engineering, her fascination in photography started when she won a point and shoot camera in a writing competition in 2011. After graduation she joined master film and communication institute to study photography and film making for a year.
She has taken part in various workshops including UNESCO journalism workshop (2015), Goethe institute portfolio review (2016) and CPE workshop No.1 and 4. Moreover, she has taken part in group exhibitions such as “In Quest for”, Goethe institute Aug. 2015, Addis Foto Fest (AFF) Dec. 2016, “In Quest for”, UPPA Oct. 2017 and “Against Gravity”, RAY festival, May, 2018.
Meseret Argaw’s works explore identity, history and dreams. She is currently working on a self- portrait project which explores a harsh childhood memory and its plausible relation to the person she is today.
