Australian photojournalist Asanka Brendon Ratnayake (b.1984) started his career at the respected Sunday Leader Newspaper in Colombo Sri Lanka in 2010. Since then he has covered social & political unrest, humanitarian crises, natural disasters as well as general news and major sporting events throughout Asia and Australia.
His images have appeared in numerous publications such as New York Times, Time Magazine, Wall Street Journal, The Times, Der Spiegel, Telegraph, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, National Geographic & Sports Illustrated to name a few. Asanka Brendon has worked with a number of news publications and news agencies such as Reuters, New York Times, Getty, Rex Features, SIPA and is currently the Australian photojournalist for Anadolu Agency. He is also an accomplished Travel Photographer who is represented by Lonely Planet/Getty Images.
Asanka Brendon is currently located in his hometown of Melbourne Australia and is available for commissioned editorial, sport, humanitarian/NGO and commercial work worldwide. He is also a member of the Frontline Freelance Register
