Amanda Winkler
Yangon, Myanmar (Burma)
Amanda is an award winning documentary filmmaker. She is a decision-maker who is equally adept in the logistical and creative side of the filmmaking process.
As a skilled producer/writer/editor, her work has been featured on Maryland Public Television, Reason TV, and local film festivals. She has taken many projects from pitch to post and her persistence and work ethic are reflected in the finished project. She enjoys working independently but also values the dynamics of a team collaboration. Her leadership skills have enabled her to direct small production teams to finish projects on time and on budget.
Her passion and specialization is in politics and international affairs. Her films emphasize the people affected by the policies that come out of Washington. She has a deep interest in the human experience and values being able to tell the stories of those whose voices have not yet been heard.
She earned her undergraduate degrees from the University of Florida in Politics and Telecommunications and her Master of Arts in Film from American University in Washington, D.C.
If she wasn’t a film producer, she’d be a professional world traveler. Her goal is to see all 7 continents before she’s 35...yes, even Antarctica. Wish her luck!
