As a photographer, I am interested in the issue of modernization, globalization, and rural-urban interaction. The massively developing economy in Southeast Asia presents challenges and opportunities in different aspects of its countries. Breaking away, while maintaining respect and connections with rural lifestyles, will prove to be challenging when coupled with the interactions the countries have with other, hyper-developed countries. These challenges gave way to new social issues that needs to be understood, documented, and appreciated. I am looking for ways, both individually and collaboratively, to document and understand these social issues in interesting ways.
In pursuing the collaborative quality of visual storytelling, a couple other photographers and I have decided to build a platform to share visual projects and improve chances and ways to work together in those projects. The platform will be called Untold Journal, and will concentrate on promoting online narrative storytelling alongside its potential for collaboration.
I have recently worked on stories about deforestation and its effect on local communities during my masters degree in London College of Communication. Before, I have also worked on a story exploring the life of street musician in London, and a story on understanding how human survey nature trough geomagnetism.
