A photojournalist currently based in London (previously Beirut). My background in politics (MSc in international relations and Conflict Studies at the London School of Economics) and journalism informs my projects, with a heavy emphasis on research. The themes of forced migration, identity, and how conflict shapes personal and societal identity are of special interest. I also accept travel editorial assignments.
For the past four years I documented the forced migration caused by the Syrian conflict reporting from the Syrian-Lebanon border and following refugees as they made their way through the Balkans. In 2017 I documented and took witness statements of survivors of what the UN described as 'Ethnic cleansing' of the Rohingya occurring in Myanmar for AFP which won second place for Tokyo International Foto.
My written and photographic work has taken me across the Middle East, Europe, and South Asia, and has been featured in Guardian, Agence France Presse, BBC World service, Al Jazeera Plus, Financial Times, The Independent, WIRED, NPR, and more.
