Adolphus Opara

With over 13 years of working experience, Adolphus Opara’s work is induced by encounters with people and their daily effort to exist amidst obstacles that define and situate their individual locality. He uses visual storytelling with the aid of pictures to show his emotional connection to the issues he confronts.

Adolphus has worked for several local and international media and organizations and his works have been published both in print and electronic media in notable publications, a few of which are; Bloomberg TV, Financial Times (FT), Guardian London, PRIVATE magazine, TIMEOUT Nigeria, World Press Photo ENTER, WINGS, Klang Sehen, HIGHLIFE (British airways inflight magazine), John Hopkins University Journal, The New York Times and The ECONIMIST.
Opara has lectured in several photography workshops and classes including; the UNICEF workshop on “Child right reporting” for media professionals, The Silent Majority Project” Lagos and Yuganda, The Nnlele Institute Lagos (African Centre for photography), Silent Majority Prison workshop (at the Kirikiri Maximum prison Lagos, Nigeria), The Nigerian institute of journalism Lagos, Harvard Graduate School of Design, Harvard University, Cambridge USA
