I am an American freelance documentary photographer and photojournalist based in Kenya. I have lived and photographed throughout Africa for the last 8 years. I have documented the civil war in South Sudan, fighting in Somalia, clashes in Burundi, and have been the only photographer in the past ten years to access the rebel-controlled areas of Darfur, Sudan. My ongoing focus has been on the impact that conflict has on isolated civilian populations.
