Ahikam Seri took up photography after his friend introduced him to a makeshift darkroom he had built at his parents’ warehouse on 1993. During multiple trips to China, India, Japan and south Asia in the 90s, he deepened his interest in documentary photography, and between 1995 and 1998 studied photography in Jerusalem. Since 1998 he has been an independent photojournalist, and on 2003 became a member of the London-based agency Panos Pictures. On 2013, he joined the Jerusalem-based video team of Agence France Presse (AFP) as a stringer, covering top-news and feature stories, completing hundreds of video assignments in Israel and the West Bank under tight deadlines.
His stills work was published in major international titles including Politiken, L'espresso, Time, US News & World Report, Paris Match, Ei8ht, Private, IoDonna, D La Repubblica Delle Donne, Le Monde, Financial Times and Independent Magazine, among many others.
Work was featured in noted group exhibitions/books, such as 'Nazar' and 'Act of Faith' by Noorderlicht (Holland), 'Regards Croisés' by Phot'Aix (France), 'This Day of Change' by Kodansha (Japan), as well as making two solo-projections in Visa Pour L'image (France).
