Edinburgh, Edinburgh, UK
I'm a professional freelance writer with three years of experience. I contribute regularly to a number of websites and blogs, and I'm always looking for new opportunities to expand my skills.
Before going freelance, I worked in digital marketing where I learned a number of skills that have helped with my writing career, including SEO, social media, email marketing and HTML. Prior to this, I studied English Language and Literature at the University of St Andrews, and I also studied History at Glasgow.
As well as web copywriting and articles, I am also interested in creative writing including poetry and short stories. I have a handful of published pieces and am currently working on my first novel.
My writing career began back in 2001 when I interned for my local newspaper and wrote an article which was published. Following this, I was involved in numerous student publications covering articles, features, and music reviews.
During my academic career, I also gained experience in essays, research, interviews, and transcription: skills which I now utilise in my writing.
I have contributed to various websites, covering topics from travel and lifestyle to healthcare and politics. I have had articles published with several UK magazines and newspapers, and I am currently writing a biography of a Saudi academic. I also write blog posts for a number of clients.
Finally, I write my own blog, at http://www.ailiewallace.com. I am experienced in Wordpress, Blogger, and other cms platforms.
