Aimee Santos began her adventures in photography with a degree in Photojournalism from San Jose State University during which she took time off to volunteer at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games in Australia and intern for the NHL in New York. After graduation she worked at the San Antonio Express-News, the Kansas City Star and the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer in Georgia. Being a native Californian she came back and found work in Los Angeles at the entertainment image agency Wireimage as an Associate Editor. She later moved on to the Berliner Studio/REX Features agency as the Assistant Syndication Manager where she created their Sports division overseeing seven sports photographers based internationally and domestic. She has worked as an editor at all the major awards shows including the Oscars and worked with sports photographers at Wimbledon, the French Open and Stella Artois tennis tournaments. She is a recipient of the American Associate of University Women’s SIT Grant, the Anderson Ranch Arts Center Presidential Scholarship, the Mid Career Grant from the Association of Women in Sports Media and the Love of Learning Grant from the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She recently finished her Masters of Fine Arts in Photography at San Jose State University and has moved back to Los Angeles where she works as an image specialist and artistic profiler of Los Angeles and Bay Area based artists for her site LosRetratos.net.
