After studies in Economic Sciences in Paris, Alain Soldeville begins to photograph in the beginning of the eighties during a two years trip in Asia. He becomes a member of ANA Photo Agency in 1987. He travels in Europe and Asia for French and international magazines (Stern, New York Times, Newsweek, Geo, National Geographic France, Vogue men, Figaro magazine, Marie-claire…). He becomes a member of Rapho Agency in 1990. From 1999 he turns to personal documentary and fictional works relating to identity and memory. In 2011, he becomes a member of the Paris based photographers collective Picturetank.
Since 2004, he works extensively in Bangkok city, making different series relating to globalization. He gets the support of the French Embassy and the French Alliance in Bangkok with three residencies and the support for exhibitions producing.
His work has been exhibited in Europe, Asia and South America.
