Autodefensa, selfdefense, Michoacan, Mexico
Alessandro Parente
The state of Michoacán has been consumed for years by the mafia. The family of "Templars", among the most ruthless, led people to have nothing more to lose, and to form groups of armed self-defense. Actually a large part of the state of Michoacán is under control of the population. The self-defense groups were privately financed, also from a large number of Mexicans in the United States, even the weapons seem to be from the US, which, being among the world's largest producers, receive benefits from the birth of armed movements across the world.

Evangelical church in Guatemala.
Alessandro Parente
The evangelical religion has reached a very high number of believers in many parts of Central and South America. It works especially in situations of poverty and ignorance. In Coban, a rural town in the central area of Guatemala, the members carry three days of fasting and prayer inside the church. On the third day many of the faithful enter a kind of trans, aided by the music, the fasting and the strong words of the pastor.
