Alessandro Rota

Alessandro (b.1988) is a photographer specialized in reportage, member of the National Union of Journalists of UK. BA in Industrial Design at the Polytechnic of Milano, MA in Photojournalism at the University of Westminster of London in 2011. Since 2013, he has travelled extensively to Africa and the Middle-East to cover areas of crisis and conflicts (Afghanistan, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Lebanon, Senegal, Somalia, South-Sudan, Sri-Lanka, Tanzania, Turkey, Zambia) while combing his journalistic works with commercials for humanitarian clients as Emergency and Oxfam and brands as Alitalia Airlines, StellaRosa and Duchessa Lia wines, Strongbow ciders (Heineken). Alessandro has published with The Guardian, VanityFair, Der Spiegel, Corriere della Sera, Newsweek, National Geographic, Aljazeera, Der Spiegel, GEO, Sportweek, Zeit, The Sunday Times, VICE, Internazionale, El Pais, IlPost, RAInews, NBC, Financial Times, among others, with cover story for Monocle magazine and The Observer. He shots on assignment for news agencies as Rossiya Segodnya and AFP. He has exhibited in the UK with the Royal Photographic Society and the Royal Geographical Society, at the Bruxelles Press Club, in Germany and in Australia with the Royal Commonwealth Society. In Italy he had three solo exhibitions. His Photographs have been awarded at the Festival of Ethical Photography in Lodi (Italy), at the International Photography Award in Los Angeles and the Andrei Stenin Press Photo Award in Moscow.
