Algy has been practicing professional photography for the last Thirteen years. After finishing University in Oxford in 2001, Algy spent six months studying professional photography at the London College of Printing. In 2002 Algy went to work as an assistant for Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones two of the modern masters of fashion photography who taught Algy what was achievable through great photography. Four years after he initially started assisting Nick Thornton Jones and Warren Du Preez Algy branched out on his own to set up as an independent photographer. Since then Algy has shot a wide range of different photography genres ranging from portraiture and automotive advertising to landscape photography.
In 2012 Algy published his first book ‘Twice the Man’, a photographic diary of a year in the life of the Grenadier Guards. From the battle fields of Afghanistan to the parade square’s of London and beyond. Algy’s book offers a rare glimpse into the life and lives of the Grenadier Guards and the men who serve in their ranks. The first copy of the book was presented by the regiment to their Honourary Colonel HRH Prince Philip on his 90th Birthday.
Since 2012 Algy has been working on a personal book project, ‘Around the World in 180°’ sets out to study ‘The Human Condition’ through the landscapes in which we live.
