My photographic practice has been shaped by a career spent serving both proffesional outfits alongside the creative arts. This interdisciplinary experience has informed my alternative visual aesthetic and my understanding of the image as a powerful cultural and communicative tool. I’m dedicated to story-telling through both still and moving images, and have built a career doing so through my lens.
Through engaging with various aesthetics and methods of image making throughout my career, I have developed a sensitivity towards narrative, context and the ethics behind making an image which underpins my photographic practice today. I am particularly interested in the ways images construct meaning and shape perception. This awareness informs a creative practice which is both self reflective and observational. My subject matter is selected just as carefully as the visual language used to depict it, and the means by which its seen.
Having spent 10+ years serving the commercial and institutional industries of East Africa as an image-maker, my focus has shifted onto developping my creative practice through publishing, alongside facilitating the creativity of the next generation of image-makers.
