Allison Shelley is an independent documentary photographer and multimedia journalist focused on global health and social justice issues worldwide. She is co-founder and co-director of WPOW (Women Photojournalists of Washington), former staff photographer for the Washington Times and previous director of photography for Education Week newspaper. Allison's work has been featured in publications such as Time magazine, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Al Jazeera, NPR the Washington Post and the Guardian. She has received awards and grants from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, the National Press Photographers Association, the White House News Photographers Association and the Society for News Design, among others.
