Emanuele Amighetti

Emanuele Amighetti is an independent documentary photographer based in Milan, Italy. Deeply attracted to our relationships with the past and the present and how human beings react to hardship, his work focuses on social issues and the aftermath of war. He was recipient of awards including PDN Photo Annual, PX3 Prix de la Photographie, Head on Photo Festival Awards, Lenscratch Student Prize and Belfast Photo Festival. His photographs have been exhibited in galleries and festivals in France, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Australia and the UK and have been published on some of the world's leading magazines and newspapers. He has been one of the artists exhibiting at last year's edition of Les Rencontres de la Photographie, Arles (FR) and Phodar Biennial (BG). He has been one of the selected photographers to attend the Eddie Adams Workshop XXX (Jeffersonville, NY) in 2017. He is also co-author of the photobook Confine (Delicious Editions, 2018), a collective narrative about how the city of Como, on the border between Switzerland and Italy, became a refugee camp. He is attending the ISSP International Masterclass 2018-19 with Peter Bialobrzeski. This year, he has been nominated for the Joop Swart Masterclass run by World Press Photo.
