Bogotá, Bogota, Colombia
I am a Colombian freelance photographer since 2015. I feel a visceral attraction towards color and I use it as a vehicle to transmit sensations. I aim for my work to be simple and at the same time engaging and spontaneous. I believe that empathy is essential to achieve intimacy and honesty in photos.
My passion is to understand the world and society in an experiential way, with all its complexities and variety. I am a faithful believer that the most interesting nuances of reality are found in everyday life and in the periphery of action. I also think art’s higher purpose is to transform society and that its potential is reached through collaborative work.
In 2015 I did my photography internship in Semana Magazine, an important news outlet in Colombia. That same year I started my commercial photography and event photography company. In 2017 I received a scholarship to attend the first Native Photography Festival in Quito and this year I was accepted to the New York Times Portfolio Review and Eddie Adams workshop. This year I was also selected to be part of the Latin American Fotografía 7 book and as "The Still Life Photographer" in EyeEm. I have published in media outlets such as Vice Colombia, Semana, Arcadia, Exclama, Bocas, Mongabay (USA) and Polytika (Poland). I was also recently invited to be a Native photographer in the Native Photograph Platform.
