Ana Yturralde

Ana is a freelance photographer born and raised in Spain. She specializes in documentary photography covering humanitarian, NGO and social issues. Most of her work has been produced in Africa and has been included in several exhibitions in galleries and museums. Worth mentioning is the publication of one of her photographs for "The Emerging Photographers Fund" of the prestigious Magnum Photos Agency, the publication of the reportage "The danger of being albino in Africa" at El Pais Semanal, the publication of the book "Albinismo. Una condición genética, dos realidades: España y Senegal" in Spain and France, the publication of the book "La Ciudad de las Damas en imágenes", along with being one of the top ten finalists at the 12th Photo contest of Smithsonian 2015 People category, finalist at the HIPA 2014 "Life in Colour", finalist in the 1st International Photography Award REVELA 2012 and general winner of the Fresh M.I.L.K. Photography Competition chosen by eminent Magnum Photographer Elliot Erwitt.
Her solo exhibitions include those in Casa Africa (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), the Parliament of Cantabria (Santander), Museu Valenciá d'Etnologia (Valencia), Domus Museum (A Coruña), Sala Lametro FGV (Valencia), Biennale DakÁrt Off 08 (Dakar). Recently two of her photographs have been included in the Art Collection of Centro de Arte Alcobendas (Madrid).
She's been assistant of David Alan Harvey (Magnum Photos and National Geographic photographer) in two workshops in Valencia and has given several photographic workshops in Spain and Senegal.
