I was based in Haiti for about 11 years, covering all Latin America and taking assignments in Middle East for Reuters, and EFE.
I started my career as Photo Editor in EFE Photography Desk in Madrid and after I joined the photo department of ADN newspaper.
In 2009 I moved out to Central America, traveling and freelancing in Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala. I've been based in Haiti since 2010, first as photojournalist correspondent for EFE/EPA, and then freelancing and contributing for different papers and magazines, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Der Spiegel... and several NGO's.
Then I worked for Reuters during 6 years based in Haiti and working on assignment in Latam and Middle East.
I've been awarded with the "Picture of the Year" and the "Enrique Meneses Prize" (News first prize) in the National Photojournalism Award 2014 (Spain) for the work in the massacre of Rabaa Al Adaweeya in Cairo (Egypt), August 2013.
I was awarded with the 3rd Prize in News Essays POYi Latino América 2011 for my work on the Cholera Outbreak in Haiti.
