Hida Visuals Inc

I am an award-winning director, filmmaker and video producer. I take a decisively documentary approach to nonfiction visual storytelling to create powerful, compelling and beautiful stories about the human experience.
My work includes branded content, journalism and documentary film defined by a distinct cinematic visual aesthetic and unique editing style. My background in journalism shapes my approach to crafting story structures and sophisticated narratives.
I provide full service production of high-quality content for a diverse set of clients that include editorial publications, advocacy organizations and brands as diverse as The New York Times, The American Jewish World Service and Minerva Schools.
Formerly, I was a Multimedia Producer at Talking Eyes Media and a Production Intern at the Emmy Award-wining production studio MediaStorm after completing my Master’s in Photography at Syracuse University.
I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii to immigrant parents from Hong Kong and Japan. During my first career as a conservation ecologist with the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, I was struck by lightning, attacked by Capuchin monkeys, and hospitalized with Meningitis. I now prefers eating pizza in the comfort of my home.
I am based out of Los Angeles, California.
