Angel Armero (1985), photographer. Born in Menorca (Spain), currently based in London.
After trying unsuccessfully to get a law degree, he decided to completely change his career and do something he really liked. Thus he decided to take up Technical studies in Image and Sound in Caparrella l’Institut in Lleida (Catalonia). By that time he began his new passion, Photography. He discovered a completely new world full of possibilities that would lead him to one of the most impressive cities in the world, Barcelona. There he joined the Centre d’Estudis Fotografics, Institut de Catalunya, one of the best schools in Spain. He completed the general course and graduated in Photography in 2012. The same year he also enrolled and completed a course in Fashion Photography and lighting in Still Life advertising. Iin addition, he took part in several group exhibitions like Firentitats Stripart.
With time running out and not many possibilities, he decided to chance a new challenge in his life. London would be the next station in search of new experiences, acquire new knowledge and find new possibilities. Among its streets he spendt much of his time immortalizing all kinds of people and situations. Street Photography is his great love in photography, mainly because he feels identified in this field. Freedom, creativity and above all the desire to portray reality without hiding anything make this style his way of life.
His other great passion, traveling and learning about new cultures and completely different places, complement perfectly with photography. Always with camera in hand, he has portrayed numerous times in different places. His desire to explore led him to Nepal where he could live the great earthquake of April 2015. Certainly I seized the opportunity to capture many images in the hardness of what had happened.
He has worked and collaborated in various fields of photography.

Today is a typical day in any city, I look around and constantly encounter the same picture: people stuck to their mobile. No matter what happens around you, your attention is on the game you are about to complete, the last comment of any social network in a WhatsApp message in reply to an email or simply snap photos of the phone to spend the time.
I start thinking about the feeling I see all these people doing the same without realizing what is happening to her and came to the conclusion that the same technology that gives us plenty at a time leaves us empty, we someday will realize that life passes us while watching a screen?
With this short reflection on our reality I leave, I have to reply to a message ...

Kathmanquake

Former capital of the hippie movement in the 60s and 70s, backpackers retreat and respectful mountaineers adventurers searching for the lost adrenaline, Kathmandu is a city where it seems cluttered million people have moved from one day to another.
It is a city where the mysticism of its temples and stoves in the presence of noise from the horn that invade every corner of the chaotic capital of Nepal is mixed.
The land of snowy peaks and Sherpas and yetis and monasteries and mantras, seems to have been cursed by one of the worst spells. Cursed by a good dose of bad luck, I experienced the earthquake of 7.8 degrees on Richter scale that struck on April 25, 2015.
With this work I just want to know what happened from my point of view and make a little trip back in time showing the terrible consequences of natural disasters.
