Angel Ngwe

Angel Ngwe is a Cameroonian photojournalist. She is passionate about images and uses her camera to stimulate reflection on contemporary issues. He is interested in humanitarian stories, cultural differences, and solidarity.
Driven by the desire to tell stories, she studied journalism and mass communication at the University of Buea. Afterward, she founded Africa Redefined, where she shares photographs of everyday life and happenings in Africa and also to improve her skills in humanitarian storytelling.
The first work Angel Published was on the Plight of plantation workers in Cameroon development corporation. This company is the second largest employer after the Cameroon government, but its workers can barely afford basic amenities. The work later received international recognition.
In 2024, Ngwe became a contributing photojournalist for Getty images as well as Associated Press. Her work has been published worldwide by media organizations such as Washington Post, Al Jazeera, USA Today, New York Post. Alongside Press assignments, Ngwe works on commissioned stories for NGOs and Agencies.
For her work, Angel won the Female photojournalist of the year at the Victoria International Media Merit Awards 2024 and University of Buea Photojournalist of the Year award 2023.
