Aníbal Martel is a documentary photographer specializing in travel-cultural and feature photography mainly related to long-term documentary projects, photojournalism, journalistic videos... Based in West Hartford, Connecticut, USA. His photographs have been exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington D.C., Angel Orensanz Foundation in New York City, Casa Colón Museum in Gran Canaria, Embassy of Spain in the United States, and Louisiana State Museums among others...
In 2016 Aníbal had a solo exhibition as part of his long-term research project in co-creation with his wife the researcher Thenesoya Vidina Martín De la Nuez about the Canary Islander descendants in the United States, “CISLANDERUS”, which was also held in Washington DC, in 2017. This photographic project is currently a traveling exhibition through Louisiana State Museum until 2020.
