Anita Baca
Santa Rosa, New Mexico, United States
Granddaughter of a rancher and a state senator, in formative years raised by my Great Aunt Rita, the first love of my life, moved to Albuquerque where I learned to ride horses and plant my own flower garden, once at the UNM decided I rather be a photojournalist than a developmental psychologist. Cut my teeth at the Albuquerque Tribune before landing a job with the AP in Central America, where 7 years later the second love of my life was born, my daughter Emma. Looking for more conventional hours I moved to San Antonio Texas to work as a photo editor with the most wonderful, talented and kind staff at the Express-News. A few years ago I returned to Latin America, rejoining the AP as a photo editor In Mexico City and here I remain.
