I'm a New England-based photojournalist working on long and short-form stories about people and places. Originally from NYC, I studied photojournalism at the Rochester Institute of Technology and eventually moved to a small town in New Hampshire to tell stories about one of my favorite parts of the US.
This is from a series called "Pelicans," a project about the young seasonal workers of Star Island, an island approximately ten miles off the coast of New Hampshire. "Pels," as they are nicknamed, complete everything from carpentry and painting tasks, to working at the front desk of the sole hotel on the island, to cooking and room changeovers. Most are college-aged and travel from various parts of the country to spend a couple of months out on the island working and building relationships that tend to last beyond the summer.
