Anna Tihanyi

Anna Tihanyi was born in Budapest, Hungary (1979). She received her diploma from communication at the JATE University and wrote her thesis in photography “Stills in Motion” (2006). Enrolled to Fotografus.hu photography school (2002-2006) where she majored in experimental photography. Twice received a grant from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Hungary –NKA (2009, 2013), and have had her first solo exhibition (2010). Became a member of the Young Hungarian Art Photographers (FFS) and got selected to Kaunas Photo Festival in Lithuania (2011). The same year her work was shortlisted for Celeste Prize (2011), and another one got selected as a permanent installation for the 2012 Youth Olympic Village in Innsbruck, Austria. She participated in an art residency program at NARS Foundation in Brooklyn, NY (2012), she won the E.On Creative Award (2013) that let her work in Berlin for two months. She has recently won 3rd prize at the European Month of Photography Festival Ljubljana (2014), same year she has received the APA / Lucie Award scholarship by the Lucie Foundation. She has participated in several exhibitions nationally and internationally. Currently lives and works in Budapest, Hungary
