Annie Grossinger

Annie Grossinger is a photojournalist and documentary photographer in Brooklyn, NY. Originally from Chicago, she began her career in 2008 as a photography assistant for Prosper Studios in Vail, Colorado after graduating from Lehigh University with a B.A. in Journalism and History. After returning to Chicago in 2010, she pursued a career in communications, working for nonprofit organizations focused on community development, before transitioning to marketing at BMO Harris. In 2014, she travelled to Haiti with Community Empowerment, NFP and Rush Medical Hospital to photograph the internal displacement camp being served by their doctors. These trips became the impetus for switching to photography full-time in 2015. She has photographed for the Chicago Tribune, and non-profits, including Community Empowerment, LISC Chicago, and Peace Care. In 2017, she was awarded a “Director’s Scholarship” to attend the Documentary Practice & Visual Journalism program at the International Center of Photography.
