Anshika Varma

Anshika Varma is a documentary photographer based in New Delhi, India. Most of Anshika’s images are centered on people and their relationship with their personal or public spaces. She uses the medium as a way to explore the many lives and cultures she is curious about and, in the process, understand more of the world she lives in and the people in it.
Her personal projects have been exhibited through various galleries both within India and internationally. She was invited to exhibit at the New York Biennal for Contemporary Arts 2014, India Art Fair 2013 and the Seventh edition of the Florence Biennial, 2009 where she was awarded the “Lorenzo Il Magnifico” award for photography.
Anshika’s work expands through documentary, portrait, interiors and commercial photography. Her works have been featured in National Geographic Traveller, The Sunday Guardian, Time Out India, Tehelka, The Rolling Stones, Vogue, People Magazine, Departures and various other national and international media. Some of the books photographed by her include Tehzeeb, Diva Green, Architects of the Future and have been published by Roli Books, RandomHouse India and Hachette India.
