Ariadna Alvarado

Ariadna is a film documentary maker and producer with an extensive professional career encompassing the fields of peacebuilding, human rights, humanitarian aid response, international development, cultural journalism, videojournalism, cultural development, communication for development, film festivals, film and TV production, performing arts, and marketing within the United Nations community and private sector in Afghanistan, Spain, Timor-Leste, India, Venezuela, Colombia, Mali, Haiti, Lebanon and the United States, as well as working with non-profit arts and cultural organizations developing and implementing special arts and film projects within the context of Human Rights and Women’s Rights issues. She has worked as a producer for various shorts, feature and documentary films. “Circus School” is her first documentary as director in Barcelona, Spain.
She is a member of the Washington D.C. Women in Film and Video, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers and Women in Film & Video of Afghanistan. Alvarado holds a BA on Arts & Humanities from the University of Maryland and an MA in Documentary Filmmaking from Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) in Spain.
Ariadna was born in Venezuela and raised between Caracas, Paris and Washington, D.C.
