Arthur Gauthier is a french-canadian photojournalist based between Montreal and Paris. He studied journalism and immigration sociology before fully dedicate himself to documentary photography.
In 2014, he completed a photojournalism formation at EMI-CFD in Paris and had an internship with Pèlerin magazine's photography department. At that time, he worked on assignment for this newspaper, covering news events and was sent in Israel and Palestine to work on Bethleem's christian schools.
His personal work focuses on the migration experience and how people build their identity in this particular context. He recently worked on assignment for Le Monde, covering the COP22 climate summit in Marrakech and he began a long-term project about refugees illegally crossing the Canadian border from the United States.
His work have been published with Le Monde, La Croix, l'Humanité, Pèlerin, La Presse, Buzzfeed, CBC, the Huffington Post and Ricochet.
Arthur Gauthier is a member of the french photo agency Hans Lucas since 2015.
