The Everyday Projects
San Francisco, CA, USA
I was born and raised in the Czech Republic. After studying directing at Film Academy I worked in Prague’s film and theater industry for several years. In 2003 I moved to San Francisco where I studied photography and photojournalism. After several internships in the US and abroad (Nepal) I started freelancing for variety of publications worldwide out of which mainly for REUTERS and Czech magazine Lidé & Země.
I dedicate most of my time to international reporting with focus on minorities (mostly LGBT), women and religion. I'm passionate about telling stories of people I meet during my missions as well as in my hometown in the Czech Republic. I collaborate with variety of NGOs documenting their humanitarian efforts (Africa, Asia) while working on my independent projects. The photographs I make are visual testimonies of people within their own society.
