Benét J. Wilson is the founder and sole proprietor of Aviation Queen LLC, an aviation/travel freelance writing and consulting business. She serves on the boards of the Online News Association and the National Association of Black Journalists.
Wilson is the Air Travel Expert for About.com and writes about transportation/travel topics for publications and websites including Arizona State University’s Reynolds Business Journalism Center, Airports Council International-North America’s Centerlines magazine, Airport World magazine, Aviation International News, USA Today, Airport World and the Airline Passenger Experience magazine. She worked at Aviation Week and Aviation Daily, where she covered airports and security, along with business and general aviation. She also wrote newsletters on regional airlines, airports and air cargo for Access Intelligence (formerly PBI Media). She most recently was the eNewsletters/social media editor for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and co-editor of AirwaysNews.com.
Wilson has also worked in communications and public relations for two airlines, two nonprofit aviation associations and an aircraft engine manufacturer. She graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in broadcast journalism. She is working on her private pilot's certificate. She resides in Baltimore, Md.
