Avi Gerver
Alumnus
NYU Department of Photography & Imaging
Washington, DC, USA
Since graduating from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in 2005, Avi Gerver has developed into one of New York City and Washington D.C.'s premiere event, entertainment and sports photographers. His experience shooting for clients big (Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, The New York Times, Chase, Volvo) and small (non-profits like Baltimore Metropolitan Council, New York Youth Symphony and Brooklyn Children's Museum) has given him the tools to tackle any visual challenge.
Avi's subjects have ranged from President Clinton to Oprah, the Dalai Lama to Paul McCartney, the Radio City Rockettes to Carmelo Anthony and everyone in between. Whether he's shooting the finish line of the New York City Marathon in the fall, basketball and hockey games in the winter, the Tony Awards in the spring, or a large corporate event with over 10,000 guests in the summer, Avi keeps busy year-round at some of the biggest events New York and D.C. have to offer. His photos have appeared in numerous major publications, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Sports Illustrated.
Avi splits his time between New York City and Washington, D.C. with his wife Shira and his two sons Judah and Ezra.
