Alberto Barba Pardal

Alberto Barba Pardal, Zamora, Spain. A documentary photographer who believes the photography is the perfect tool to approach what worries him or is incomprehensible to him and also to reflect his culture as well as many others. Alberto believes that photography is a way to understand, is the ideal means to explore and discover, to turn fear into a find, to investigate the incomprehensible, to believe, to develop oneself.
In 2015 he moved to Barcelona to do a postgraduate degree in Documentary Photography and multimedia languages at the International School of Photography Grisart. Since June 2016 Alberto works as a freelance photographer. His work has been published in TV3, The Week, GEO, El Mundo, Diari Ara, Equal times or Playground among others publications. His projects have been exhibited in numerous festivals, including DOCfield International Documentary Festival of Barcelona, J.E.E.P European festival of emergent talents (Paris) and Fundació Foto Colectania (Barcelona).
In 2016, Alberto was selected to “ Les Coup de Coeur de l’ani” award by Iconographers National Association at Visa pour l’image.
In 2017, Alberto received the Helge Hummellvoll Scholarship to attend the 69th edition of Missouri Photo Workshop. He attended the XXX Eddie Adams Workshop. Additionally, he was a finalist in the International Award PhotON Festival.
Recently Alberto has been awarded a Canon grant in BasqueDok Festival and also has received a Scholarship at El Observatorio to make a new project with directors of the documentary department.
Since 2016—Alberto works as a freelance photographer. He is available for assignments.
