Photographer ad videomaker, previously formed in engineering, Bastien Defives is member of the transit collective since 2002, and the cooperative agency Picturetank since 2003.
He currently lives and works in Dakar (Sénégal).
His work mainly focuses on documentary and collaboratives approaches, questionning environmental and social issues.
He works with the press (assignments and diffusion in publication such as Le Monde, Télérama, GEO…), with national and international institutions (such as PRCM, CIRAD, IRD, FAO…), as well as with privates companies and communication agencies (Véolia, Eiffage...)
He also develops participative photo and video projects, in order to give groups of people and communities the possibility to represent themselves.
Able to work rather in a team or in an autonomous way, he is used to the realization, the management and the development of projects involving multidisciplinary teams (artistic but also disciplinary and multi-actors).
