Bell-Gam photo-documents and preserves endangered cultural heritages in Eastern Niger Delta through curated exhibitions - more recently photogrammetry, #SDG11.4. A 2022 Fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship by the US Dept of States.
As a Documentary Photographer, his images are predominantly cultural based, attempting to preserve both tangible and intangible cultural heritages. A member, African Photojournalism Database APJD.
As a Cultural Curator, Bell-Gam has curated:
• “Blue Economy” a group exhibition for Nigeria Maritime Safety and Agency (NIMASA) December 2018, portraying how the Maritime Sector is playing it’s role in both developing and boosting the nation’s (Nigeria) economy.
• “Sesquicentennial Celebrations” exhibition of the famous hometown of the Afro Treaty King, King Jaja of Opobo, as the Kingdom makes 150yrs, December 2020. He photo-documented the works displayed.
• “Silent Heritage - a Postcard Exhibition” a systematic showcase of culture and heritages that are silently being forgotten.
> In 2021, he photo-documented and curated “Canoe Series of Opobo Kingdom,” where he showcased that canoes weren’t just meant for fishing but had other significances like the war canoe by the city states.
> In 2022, he jointly exhibited and curated “Mental Slavery” a humanitarian exhibition with the Syracuse City State during the national Juneteenth Celebrations. Mental Slavery was around the narrative about how African women are not living their full potentials as they have been domesticated by men therefore not realizing their dreams
A graduate of Computer Science, currently a graduate degree student of Information Technology. He’s creating a Mix of ICT and Arts and has recently ventured into Photogrammetry as a means to preserve culture. His current interest; cultural anthropologist, heritage, identity, origin, library science, forensic and heritage crime, LiDAR, endangered archive projects and writing research papers
