I am not good talking about myself. But hopefully my photographs will do the talking for me. I experiment with all genre of photography. My special interest however is in capturing human emotions of those living at the edges of societies in many parts of the world.
Passion for photography is an essential pre-requisite for capturing images that are enduring. Hence capturing mood, emotions and the environment are most important elements in my images. I am always concerned with technical perfection and strive to produce and exhibit images that are well composed, engaging and that speak volumes about the subject. For me the art of photography is to capture the moment in a way that plays with multitude of emotions in the viewer. When I achieve that then I have succeeded in my purpose.
Although there are many color images in my portfolio I have a passion for black and white. Depending on the image, color can be distracting and take away the essence of the photograph. For me color is for the eyes and black white for the soul.
For the last few years I have been honored to have been offered commission work by VSSMIndia.org (a charity working with nomadic tribes) and SEWAIndia.org (a union for women workers in the informal sector). More recently my images have been used by London based NGO - Anti-slavery.org for their campaigns against modern slavery.
Sale of my photographs and collections enables me to pursue my commitment to photograph the underprivileged around the world as well as contribute towards promoting awareness. Please feel free to contact me for commission work almost anywhere in the world.
