John Brecher is an award-winning photojournalist with more than twenty years' experience in still photography, videography and multimedia production. Starting out at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner in Alaska, he went on to work as chief photographer at the Jackson Hole News. Next came freelance projects for msnbc.com, notably a 65-day assignment following the Olympic Torch Relay and two months covering the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in coastal Mississippi. For the last ten years, Brecher has covered stories across America and internationally for NBC News. He lives in New York City.
