Since 2009, I have been working as a visual journalist with careers at The Daily Iowan, The Burlington Hawk Eye, and as a freelancer in the Des Moines area. While working for these newspapers, I learned and exceeded the expectations of a being a daily news journalist. Every day I would photograph stories for the news, sports, business, and lifestyle sections of the paper. I worked on photographing, writing, and shooting video for long form stories as well.
Today, I am a freelancer hoping to keep learning and growing and create quality content for clients that tells a story.

Friends and family gather during a candlelight vigil at the home of Daniel Shaw, 13, an Aldo Leopold Middle School eighth grader who committed suicide on Sunday March 25, 2012 in Burlington. Shaw died in his home on Tuesday March 20, 2012. About 200 of Shaw's friends, family, and classmates came to his home to remember him and to speak on the importance of suicide prevention. The Shaw family donated Daniel's organs to the Iowa Donor Network.
