Architecture, interiors, portraits, and documentary work for editorial and commercial clients.
Journalism, blogs, a bit of non-fiction TV and radio, and copy.
Recent projects include three chapters in the ASMP Guide to New Markets in Photography (32 interviews with photographers, 21,000 words), and a feature profile of fashion photographer Melvin Sokolsky in Photo Media Magazine.
Websites and things on paper.
Professional Practices for Photographers; a business class at Pasadena City College.
I also conduct workshops on business for emerging creative-types, digital workflow, and architectural photography.
Recently completed six years in leadership positions with ASMP (The American Society of Media Photographers), including being president of the Los Angeles chapter and three years on the national board.
In a previous career I was a kitchen-and-bath designer, contractor, and carpenter, which taught me the value of collaboration, gave me the handy ability to perceive 90-degree angles and straight lines, and, no less important, a strong back for hauling equipment; useful talents to this day.
