I am a photographer, member of the Studio Hans Lucas and visual artist permanent resident at the 6B, a space for artistic creation and cultural outreach in Saint-Denis, from 2016 to 2020.
I divide my time between photographic commissions, artistic projects, cultural initiatives and creative workshops.
After 10 years in Paris, I returned to settle in Normandy where I grew up. I am based in Caen and I frequently work in Orne, Paris, and in England.
My work has been published in Le Monde, Causette, La Vie, La Croix, Your Daily Photograph, Wall Street International, Don’t Take Pictures, Flanelle Magazine, as well as by Flammarion
Path & Artistic Approach
I passed a DNAP at the Beaux Arts of Caen where I started my artistic explorations in a multidisciplinary way through music, video, writing, book making, collage and painting. It’s my research on the relation of narration to images, in between fixity and movement, that brought me to photography. I passed my Master of Photography and Contemporary Art at the University Paris VIII, my study was entitled “Family stories; the photographer storyteller of the intimate sphere.”
French, English born, I’ve always navigated in between two cultures, two languages. It’s an “in between”, in between conscious and unconscious, absence and presence that I explore in my work
I draw my inspiration from literary experience. It opens spaces, creates unconscious worlds. The roots of my pictures lie in those ellipses, that latency. Floating instants, delicate and flickering “in between” moments. They find a way in between reality and fiction, like a silence finds its way in between two notes of music. Suspended time, ethereal and timeless.
