Charles Moriarty

London-born, Ireland-bred photographer Charles has been involved in the arts from an early age. Originally intending to go into film, he did production work in both film and theatre in Dublin, London, and Edinburgh. During his last year studying English and Art History at Goldsmiths University of London, he settled into stills photography and went professional. After several years working in the music industry with artists including Amy Winehouse, The Loose Cannons, and Arthur Baker, he spent some time in the medical field specializing in Ocular medical illustration. Following the completion of his second degree from London College of Communications he has continued to focus on still photography. From 2010 till November 2012 he was a specialist at Moorfield's hospital, running the paediatric photographic department. In 2013 he worked abroad with various institutions such as the British Fashion Council, and more recently in Bolivia with el Ninio's orphanage. At present he is based in London, and shoots for publications such as Flaunt, 1814 and Highsnobiety. He works regularly with Aitor Throup.
