Chedly Ben Ibrahim
Tunis, Tunisie
Chedly ben ibrahim, born in Tunisia, holding a master in accounting, is a Tunisian photojournalist, speaking Arabic, French, English and Italian languages.
In 2012, he was convinced that a powerful picture could make the change, and felt that he was attracted to the world of photojournalism, when he was ‘dazzled’ by the images of the Tunisian revolution, then the strong work of the masters James Nachtwey, Robert Capa, Patrick Chauvel, and other talented war photographers.
In the same year, as usual, guided by his instinct, he bought his very first camera, and started on the field with his first professional reportage on July 12, 2012, that he sent to DEMOTIX, which was a free speech platform for local journalists acquired by Corbis corporation.
He has covered Tunisia’s democratic transition and important events such as the assault on the U.S. Embassy in Tunisia, the terrorist attacks that hit Tunisia especially in 2015, the National dialogue, the sit-in of Bardo, the Presidential and Parliamentary Tunisian Elections and other relevant events.
As a freelancer, he worked for Demotix, Wostok Press, SIPA USA, Getty Images. Currently he works for NurPhoto Agency.
He also worked on assignment for The Mail On Sunday, The daily Mail, El Mundo (Spain), the Mirror, BuzzFeed, Equality Now, The Open Society Foundations, and other international Media and Organizations.
His pictures had been published on The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, The New York Review, Paris Match, Le Monde, The Mail On Sunday, The Daily Mail, El Mundo (Spain), The Mirror, Le Figaro, Le Parisien Magazine, Internazionale, Afrique Magazine, Jeune Afrique, The Sunday Times, Time, Courrier International and other international media.
Currently he’s still covering the major news in his country and he’s available for assignments in Tunisia and all around the world.
Simultaneously, he’s working on short and long-term stories with social and relevant issues in Tunisia.
