I’m an Italian documentary photographer born in 1986. Self taught, since 2014 I have contributed to several newspapers, magazines and media outlets such as Newsweek, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Al Jazeera, Washington Post, Vanity Fair, The New Republic, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, VICE, De Correspondent, etc…
In parallel with my works for media outlets I pursue also more personal and intimate projects, and I have published in 2016 my first photobook, A Humble Bow, a two years journey into the underground world of BDSM in Italy, published by the Portoguese editor The Unknown Books. This work was shortlisted at the Lugano Photo Days in 2016 and at FELIFA Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In January 2017 the work “A Humble Bow” was exhibited at the Paolo Tonin Arte Contemporanea Gallery in Torino, and in March 2017 at the WSP gallery in Rome.
In June 2017 my work “With Bare Hands” on shipbreaking in South Asia was exhibited at the European Parliament.
During the years I was granted by several institutions and foundations such as the European Journalism Center/Bill&Melinda Gates Foundation in 2015 and 2016, and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in 2014.
