Castlebar
I didn’t set out to be a photographer, but I enrolled in a one year photography course at Marino College in Dublin in 1995 while trying to figure out what to do with my life.
Part of the curriculum included work experience and I hounded the Irish Times and Irish Independent picture desks until I got in there.
Once I did I was hooked.
I was fascinated with the day to day stories people had to tell and the way these talented photographers were able to capture them in a single image.
I started working the following summer for a picture agency in Galway and haven’t looked back since.
After having worked for agencies providing images to many national and regional newspapers in Ireland and around the world I settled back home in Mayo in 2000.
Since then I have been working on building a list of Newspaper and Corporate clients.
I recently opened a portrait studio in Castlebar to further expand on my love of photographing people.
I live in Ballyvary, Co. Mayo with my wife, Karen and our son Jack.
